You will be required to complete a number of probity checks that form part of the screening process to become a foster carer. Some of these checks include a national criminal history check, medical check, referee check, home inspection, and ID check.
All authorised foster carers are required to have a Working With Children Clearance (WWCC number) issued by the NSW Office of the Children’s Guardian.
To become an authorised Foster Carer in NSW, you must be either an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
