NSW Carers Awards
NSW Carers Awards
2018 was the ninth year of the NSW Carers Awards. The awards program has seen many inspiring and deserving carers receive awards over the years, but many of you have told us that it is time to take a new and fresh approach.
This year we are raising awareness and understanding of carers by acknowledging carers through a range of activities, rather than a single awards ceremony.
National Carers Week 2019 (13 – 19 October 2019)
National Carers Week is about recognising and celebrating the outstanding contribution unpaid carers make to our nation. It provides an opportunity to educate and raise awareness among all Australians about the diversity of carers and their caring roles.
Events during carers week
This year, the NSW Government will explore what it means to be a carer, and also how businesses can be part of a carer's support network.
The following events will be held during Carers week:
Monday 14th October – Carers and employers pop up in Martin Place
We will be hosting a pop up at Martin Place on Monday 14 October.
The pop up is an opportunity to celebrate and thank carers, but also educate people about carers across NSW.
We will be providing information about carers in NSW and how they can be supported in the workplace. There will be opportunities to write public messages of thanks to carers, and special giveaways.
Employers can find out more about our Carers and Employers program, to create carer friendly workplaces.
There will be information about our Carers and Employers program, and special giveaways. The Hon. Minister Gareth Ward MP will also be dropping by after 11:30am to meet and greet members of the public.
