NSW Community Housing Eligibility Policy

The  NSW Community Housing Eligibility Policy sets out the NSW Government’s criteria for eligibility to social housing, affordable housing, co-operative housing, transitional housing, Transitional Housing Plus and crisis accommodation managed by community housing providers in NSW.

The Policy applies to all properties governed by the contractual agreement with a community housing provider (a Community Housing Assistance Agreement). Failure to use best endeavours to comply with policy requirements is cause for review of an organisation’s registration status under the NSW Regulatory Framework and the National Regulatory System for Community Housing.

The Income Eligibility Limits for community housing are available in the Social Housing Eligibility and Allocations Policy Supplement. The Income Eligibility Limits are updated annually and published on the website.
