Aboriginal Homelessness Support Service
Aboriginal Homelessness Support Service (operating as Innari Housing) provides services specific to Aboriginal people, families, Aboriginal women with or without children, Aboriginal men with or without children, Aboriginal single women, Aboriginal single men, and Aboriginal youth, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Sydney district and the Inner West.
It also provides support to service providers to assist with cultural competencies and appropriate engagement with Aboriginal people and communities. It will draw on the networks and relationship with elders in different communities to work alongside service providers and ensure a culturally sensitive and progressive process with positive outcomes.
This service provides assertive outreach to people experiencing all forms of homelessness to assist to access long-term housing support. It also provides presentation and early intervention to those at risk of becoming homeless, including those where tenancy has been identified to be at risk. This service will provide support to residents early to address issues that are placing their house at risk.
