Men Exiting Custody Homelessness Support Service
This service (operating Rainbow Lodge) as provides support for men aged 25 years and over exiting custody who have a medium to high risk of reoffending and are at risk of homelessness. It accepts referral directly from Corrective Services for clients.
It provides a residential program that offers intensive case management for three months and explores possible exist strategies and identifies support needs post the three month residential program.
This service provides 2 years of post-crisis support for men who have exited the program, including sustaining tenancies, court support, reconnecting with family, mental health support, medical support, living skills and accessing the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). It also supports access to affordable housing, advocacy and referral to relevant service providers, recreational activities program, life skills training, outreach support and tenancy support.
This service has a strong focus to supporting Aboriginal men and men from culturally and linguistically diverse background.
