Lake Macquarie Women and Family Homelessness Support Service
This service support women (with or without accompanying children) who are homeless or at risk of homelessness affected by domestic and family violence, or who have complex needs.
It provides client-centred homelessness support, including prevention and early intervention, rapid rehousing, crisis and transitional accommodation, and intensive responses for women with complex needs. This service will ensure clients who become homeless are safely rehoused, and once accommodation has been secured clients will receive post-crisis support to assist them to maintain the accommodation.
This service has a strong focus on responses for Aboriginal women and families and is accessible to women and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
This service provides two women’s refuges:
- Eastlakes Women’s and Children's Refuge
- Westlakes Women’s and Children's Refuge.
