Mid North Coast Homeless Youth Assistance Program (HYAP) Port Macquarie-Hastings

This service operating as YP Space MNC, has a focus on preventing children and young people entering homelessness along with early return to family in the Kempsey, Port Macquarie-Hastings area. Outreach is also provided to small communities outside the main centres of Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie and Kempsey.

It also provides support to young people experiencing family breakdown, domestic or family violence, have or experiencing trauma, disengaged in education and have been involved with alcohol and drug misuse, have experienced mental health issues. Early intervention strategies are targeted towards the key life domains of accommodation/family placement, education, age-appropriate living skills development, building independence, and support for complex behaviours.

This service has a strong focus on preventing children and young people entering homelessness along with early return to family of those currently homeless.

This service has a strong focus on Aboriginal and young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
