Mid-Western Homelessness and Housing Support Service

This service operating as Barnardos Western NSW - Mudgee, supports young people, adult men and women and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, including those experiencing domestic and family violence. In the Mid-Western area. It also covers Mudgee, Gulgong, Rylstone, Kandos and surrounding villages.

It provides early intervention and prevention, supported crisis and transitional accommodation and helps clients to access long-term secure accommodation, and supports them to maintain tenancies.

Immediate intervention and support to clients experiencing domestic and/or family violence to remain in the family home or to be safely rehoused. Post-crisis support is also provided to help clients resolve any issues that caused their homelessness in order to prevent future episodes.

This service has a strong focus on Aboriginal people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. It also service provides Domestic Violence Response Enhancement (DVRE) to strength their after-hours responses to women in crisis.
