Nepean Blue Mountains Family Homelessness and Housing Support Service
This service targets families, including men or women with children, young parents, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury and Penrith Local Government Areas.
The target client group may include families sleeping rough or in improvised dwellings; staying with friends or relatives or in short-term temporary accommodation; and staying in boarding houses, caravan parks or other insecure tenancies.
It delivers crisis and transitional accommodation, case management, prevention and early intervention, rapid rehousing, and intensive support for clients with complex needs and identifies families who have become homeless and aim to house them as quickly as possible. It has a strong focus on supporting tenancies at risk. Clients who are rehoused will be supported to sustain their new tenancies. This service also provides outreach to support clients.
It has a strong focus on responses for Aboriginal families and ensures support is accessible to families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
