Newcastle and Lake Macquarie Men's Homelessness Support Service
This service operating as Matthew Talbot Newcastle and Lake Macquarie Men’s Homelessness Service, provides support to specifically men with or without children in the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie Local government area.
It provides prevention and early intervention, rapid rehousing, crisis and transitional responses. A core component of this service is providing support to men with complex needs, rough sleepers and men existing institutions. Men with children who become homeless are rapidly and safely rehoused, and once accommodation has been secured will receive post-crisis support to assist them to maintain the accommodation.
This service will identify clients who are at imminent risk of homelessness and support them to remain safely in their existing housing, or where appropriate, use a range of approaches to assist men (with accompanying children is applicable) to secure and sustain safe and stable housing.
The service has a strong focus on responses for Aboriginal men and children and is accessible to men and children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
