Parkes Forbes Homelessness and Housing Support Service
This service operating as CatholicCare Wilcannia-Forbes, support young people, adult men and women, and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, including those experiencing domestic and/or family violence. It has a strong focus on Aboriginal people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
It provides early intervention and prevention, post-crisis support, as well as supported crisis and transitional accommodation with an emphasis on exiting clients into stable housing. It helps clients to access long-term secure accommodation and supports them to maintain these tenancies.
It also provides immediate intervention and support to clients experiencing domestic and/or family violence to remain in the family home or to be safely rehoused.
This service provides Domestic Violence Response Enhancement (DVRE) to strength their after-hours responses to women in crisis.
