South Western Sydney District Supported Accommodation and Outreach Services for Young People

This service, operating as CORE Community Services, Youth Crisis Refuge, supports young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness by providing outreach support, safe crisis and transitional accommodation. It prioritises young people under the age of 18 years but does not exclude 18–25 year olds.

There is a strong focus on young people with complex needs, with significant behavioural or mental health issues, such as self-harm, and those requiring intensive face-to-face support and crisis accommodation.

Priority is also given to support and accommodate young people leaving statutory care (e.g. out-of-home care and juvenile justice), and those who are victims of abuse and domestic and family violence.

It delivers prevention and early intervention, outreach support services, and offers case management and wraparound services.

This Service includes an enhanced response for young people who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless, to enable access to crisis accommodation and support 24 hours, 7 days a week.

This service has a strong focus on responses for Aboriginal young people and young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

This service supports: young people; Aboriginal people; families
