Southern NSW Homeless Youth Assistance Program (HYAP)

This program through the Southern Youth and Family Services, provides early intervention and family support for children and young people 12 to 15 years old at risk of homelessness.

It provides strong case management, facilitate and support family restoration and works with specialist services such as mental health, drug and alcohol or trauma counselling is facilitated with the client.

It provides a range of complementary services and works in partnership with other services, enabling a wraparound response to the needs of clients, including educational and vocational support, crisis and transitional supported accommodation, and brokerage.

The service has a strong focus on responses for Aboriginal young people and young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
