Western Sydney Specialist Homelessness Services
The Uniting (NSW.ACT) - Western Sydney Specialist Homelessness Services, provides various support in the Western Sydney district to:
- young people
- children and young people aged 12 – 17 years and their siblings.
- Single women and women with children experiencing domestic and family violence
- Single men, including rough sleepers and men leaving institutional settings
Uniting (NSW.ACT) has a strong focus to Aboriginal people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
Youth
This service targets young people with complex needs, including young pregnant women or parents 25 years of age and their children who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The service operates as a Youth Hub, which allows for early intervention, intake case work and outreach to young people.
Young people will be supported through effective case management to address their homelessness issues or risks, which will include support to develop independent living, support to re-engage with family, education and/or training, parenting support for young parents and support to access rapid accommodation.
The youth service provides access to crisis accommodation and support 24 hours, 7 days a week.
Single women and women with children experiencing domestic and family violence
This service provides support to single women over 25 years of age who are homeless and or at risk of homelessness, and women with children experiencing domestic and/or family violence.
It provides prevention and early intervention, crisis and transitional accommodation with support to exist clients out of homelessness. It assists in rapid rehousing by working with relevant services and it also provides advice and advocacy to clients.

Single men
The service supports single men who are homeless or at risk in the Western Sydney area. The service is accessible to men existing custody, mental health facilities or other institutional settings. It has intensive responses for clients with complex needs, mental health and substance misuse issues. It also provides support to rough sleepers.
This service also includes focus on crisis and transitional accommodation, prevention and early intervention. It responds quickly to wrap support around clients to prevent a person entering homelessness/ crisis again. It helps transition clients into long-term accommodation and provide intensive support as required.
