Industry and Workforce Development Program

The Industry and Workforce Development Program aims to coordinate and deliver initiatives and support to SHS providers, to respond to critical issues facing the sector.

This includes capacity building and skills development to:

  • equip the sector to provide quality services to service users that demonstrate best practice
  • deliver and support sector collaboration and networking at local, District and state levels, that ensures an integrated, efficient and accessible service system.
  • ensure a highly skilled, motivated and sustainable homelessness workforce.

DVNSW, YFoundations and Homelessness NSW are contracted by DCJ to work collaboratively to achieve these objectives.

SHS funded providers can expect to have activities and resources such as the SHS Learning & Development Framework, communities of practice, forums, practice guidelines, accreditation support, recruitment strategies and other specialised workforce development initiatives, provided free of charge, as part of this program.
