Aboriginal Housing Office

Established in 1998, the NSW Aboriginal Housing Office has four main priorities - to develop a viable Aboriginal housing sector, increase focus on asset management, increase access to safe, affordable and culturally appropriate housing and promote employment opportunities for Aboriginal people within the sector.

Aboriginal Affairs NSW

DAA work with Aboriginal people, government agencies, and the private and community sectors to promote the interests of Aboriginal people in NSW and reduce the inequity they continue to experience as a result of colonisation.

Fair Trading NSW

The role of the Fair Trading NSW within the Department of Commerce is to safeguard consumer rights and to advise business and traders on fair ethical practice.

NSWALC (NSW Aboriginal Land Council)

The NSW NSWALC is a peak representative body responsible for protecting and promoting the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in NSW with a significant emphasis on land.

Local Aboriginal Land Council contacts can be found on this site. They are responsible for supporting their membership towards social and economic empowerment. These include making land claims under the Act, supporting business ventures, administering housing, assisting members with training opportunities and other projects.

Aboriginal Hostels

Aboriginal Hostel Limited has provided temporary accommodation services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people since 1973.

AHL operates its own hostels as well as supporting community organisations to operate theirs. We are very proud of our involvement in the community and the role we play in helping Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to access the services they need and achieve their goals.
