The difference between disability modifications and home modifications

Modifications that are funded by Homes NSW are known as Home Modifications (Disability) policy.

When your NDIS package includes funding for modifications, or you have another funding source for your home modifications, these modifications are managed according to the Alterations to a Home policy.

Home alterations are changes to your home, such as adding pay TV, garden sheds, or air conditioners to your home, following approval from Housing Portfolio. Alterations to your home also include modifications to support you to live independently and safely in your home. When your NDIS package includes funding for them, or you have another funding source for the modifications, tenants of properties managed by Homes NSW can ask for approval for alterations to their home and they will need to cover the costs themselves. See making an alteration to your home for information.
