Brighter futures

We all want our kids to be happy, healthy and safe. For this reason, Brighter Futures is helping out lots of families in NSW.

Like many Australians, some of our mob struggle with parenting for a lot of different reasons, like being a single parent, low income, unemployment, no access to important services, drug and alcohol problems, and family and domestic violence.

What is the Brighter Futures program

The Brighter Futures program is a deadly program to help you give your mob a good start in life. It can also help you work through any problems you may be having.

Brighter Futures can help you with a lot of different things like:

• playgroups
• home visiting
• child care
• parent groups.

It can also link you to other services to help you get on your feet:

• drug and alcohol counselling
• financial management
• employment services, and many others.

Is this program for me

If you think you need help, don’t be shamed. Brighter Futures will work hard with you to get you back on track.

You can have a yarn with a Brighter Futures worker about what things are going well and what things you think you may need some help with. Brighter Futures can work in many ways – we will make sure we fit the special needs of your mob. Tell us what your needs are and we’ll help you the best we can.

How does the Brighter Futures program work

Brighter Futures works with you for around 2 years, depending on you and your mob. Together, we will plan for the services and support that are right for your family.

What if I start Brighter Futures then don’t want to do it any longer

If you decide that Brighter Futures is not for you, then you are free to stop the program at any time. It’s your choice.
