It is important that you allow Homes NSW maintenance contractors into your property to carry out work inspections, regular servicing or other maintenance work. You will be contacted by the contractor in advance to arrange a suitable time.

Saturday is a ‘work day’ for Homes NSW maintenance contractors, so access to your home may be required on a Saturday to perform maintenance and repairs.

When you call the Maintenance Hub to request maintenance or repairs, we’ll let you know which contractor has been allocated to work at your home. They will contact you to arrange an appointment.

All Homes NSW staff and maintenance contractors are required to carry appropriate identification, and you should always ask to see identification before letting anyone into your home.

Property inspections

Homes NSW staff members conduct property inspections on homes to determine what maintenance needs to be planned or undertaken. We will contact you by letter prior to conducting a property inspection.

When we assess the whole of your property, it will generally take about an hour.

Maintenance work is then prioritised based on need and a comprehensive plan for delivery is developed for homes.

If a property inspection has already been done, you can contact your local office or the Maintenance Hub to find out if your home is due for planned maintenance services.
